Hacker Sends Porn Messages From Local Pastor's Facebook Account

SOMERVILLE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A local Somerville pastor is asking Facebook for some help after someone reportedly took over her account on Friday and sent out pornography.

Reverend Dr. Karen Coleman told FOX 25 that someone hacked into her Facebook account, changed her password and her name, kept all her information intact, and sent out spam messages.

"It's incredibly frustrating. Because I really use my Facebook account to stay in touch with clergy friends, friends from high school, and elementary school. It's where I go for resources, for ideas, and prayer," Coleman said.

The leader of the St. James Episcopal Church was notified by a friend about the unusual and violent content being sent out. Coleman said the hacker also took control over her AOL e-mail account.

"This is very, very embarrassing. It's upsetting that I have no way to reach Facebook. I know they have millions of people, but I can't get into Facebook to let them know I'm having a hacking problem because it no longer recognizes me as a Facebook subscriber," Coleman said.

Coleman does not even have a way to contact her 1,500 Facebook friends to tell them she has been hacked. She received a generic response from Facebook saying they would be in touch and gave her a link to their help center.

Last February, Kaitlyn Marshalsea and her family were hurt when hackers took over her dead father dormant Facebook page. The family still has gotten little by means of a resolution.
